Car Tinting Options

Tinting your car windows can have several benefits, from more privacy to keeping the heat out during long summers. When you want to get your windows tinted, it’s a good idea to know what options you have before getting the work done. After all, you don’t want to choose one option only to discover later that you would have preferred something different. Here are your car tinting options.

Dyed

A dyed window tint can be layered over your windows at different levels, offering a variety of shades at a reasonable cost. Dyed window tints are mainly used to prevent the sun’s rays from getting into the car, though they do not do anything against UV light. Consider a dyed tint if you are on a budget and you want options on how dark your windows get. To find an auto shop that does a tinting service, research car tinting Maryland or whatever location suits you.

Carbon

The carbon film is a next step up, offering plenty of protection from the sun. It does a better job deflecting heat. Therefore, it is a great option for those who live in areas that get severe summer weather.

Metalized

This is an option between carbon and dyed. Metalized tints reflect the light. A thin film is placed over each window to do so, offering ample protection without being too costly. If you want something more than a simple dyed tint, but you aren’t willing to go as far as carbon, this is your optimal bet.

Ceramic

Finally, the ceramic window tint is considered the cream of the crop. This can keep just about everything out using a mixture of ceramic in the film itself. If you are concerned about UV light in addition to regular heat, this is a great choice. It is more expensive, but it can be worth the money in extreme heat.
